Happy 40th David Bowie's 'Scary Monsters'! This LP (and 'Lodger') are most often my favorite Bowie albums, which says a lot about my musical taste, I think. Beep beep! (h/t @bowiesongs)
I've been pretty obsessed lately with the version of "Fashion" Bowie did on the 1983 Serious Moonlight tour. The choreography, the musicians, the arrangement, the carefree-'80s vibe... and then to go right into "Let's Dance"! Amazing!
Also, if you've never heard it -- @tearsforfears did a really great version of "Ashes to Ashes" back in the '90s:
Oh, and here's another version of "Fashion" I've always loved, from the '96 VH1 Fashion Awards. It's such a dense sculpture; every time I listen another little detail surfaces.
