we don't talk enough about how batsh t bonkers it is that a conference who determined it was unsafe to play football has had more calls for explanation than the conferences making riskier decisions.
like, i get the big ten did a terrible job of rolling this out. but you'd have thought, in a sane world, it'd be parents of kids risking their health to play whose voices would be the loudest. but no no no.
i think this notion is overstated. not all those parents pushing this have kids with a shot at the league. perhaps they think that, but i think it's just about football. https://twitter.com/theGlenn/status/1304791890630504448
noooo, you need to explain why the hell you're playing youth ball! https://twitter.com/jeffzan/status/1304791995941105669
how is "well, if pee-wee can do it..." your argument and you don't feel like a total idiot saying it out loud? who are these people you hang out with who hear that and say "i guess you have a point"?
i know this may seem counterintuitive to some, but if all you're saying is "it won't kill you," don't call that "science." that's not really what "science" means. https://twitter.com/jeffzan/status/1304792696112975873
no it's not. none of the people upset this was done "behind closed doors" would care if they decided to play football. these folks aren't standing on the principle of transparency. and you know that. https://twitter.com/_HowDoIUseThis/status/1304793015567949824
