QAnon stuff is fairly easy to make fun of. “Yeah sure buddy, they’re going to lock Hillary and all the Democrats up in Gitmo and liberate the mole children. Annnny minute now.”

But here’s the thing: what if you woke up tomorrow and they had arrested Democrat leaders?

Sure, the mole children thing ain't gonna happen. But what if they said Durham had discovered treasonous crimes committed by the Democrats?

Who's going to stop them?

Not the Democrat leadership. They're locked up.

Republican leadership? The past four years have shown they'll do anything to keep power. They're all spineless parasites. They'd be fully on-board with this.

The public? At least one third of them see Trump as a messiah. You know, the crazy ones, the ones with the guns.

Lots of them have been primed by QAnon to expect this moment, it would make them absolute believers - and convert their friends who weren't sure.

The police? Trump makes statements that he's raising pay, and letting them take the gloves off - it's time that law and order was restored.

The DOJ? It's already Barr's, and therefore Trump's, personal tool.

The only line of defence from outright civil war occurring between the opposing sides of the populace is the military. Would they dare oppose the commander-in-chief and take control of government to allow fair and impartial trials?

It's just a thought experiment. But I keep going over it in my head, because there's an uneasy feeling I keep having that it's not as preposterous as it sounds.

QAnoners. Proud Boys. White Nationalists. Boogaloo Bois. There's a lot of crazy ass people who *want* violence.

And QAnon has set it all up. An alternate reality that they can believe in, pre-planted 'evidence', if someone just wants to take advantage of it.

This is why I often worry when people just make jokes about QAnon. It's got the potential to lead to a literal coup.
