1/7. The repeated setbacks in Eastern Ladakh poses problems for Xi, which in turn means the PLA GF is under notice to perform. Their last major engagement was in February 1979, where the Vietnamese Army gave them a bloody nose.
2/7. It has been claimed that Xi is the primary driver for the aggressive moves of the PLA into India, but his Ground Forces have unexpectedly flopped.
3/7. This failures is a major setback for Xi—who as chairman of the Party's Central Military Commission, is the leader of the PLA, and thus blameworthy for the fiasco.
4/7. Both the Western Theatre Commander General Zhao Zongqi and its political commissar General Wu Shezhou, are under serious threat for a purge.
5/7. Even General Xu Qiling, a rising star of the People’s Liberation Army, who had been earlier posted in as the GF Commander of Western Theatre Command, is now under threat to perform.
6/7. General Xu Qiling, the former GF Commander of Eastern Theatre Command, had recently swapped posts with his counterpart 62 year old General He Weidong. The new General is 57 years old
7/7. Xi has suffered a “loss of face”. So a major purge is in the offing....we can expect some reckless behaviour from the Chinese soon.
