ppl might say u shouldn’t shave against the grain, but i do and i never get ingrown hairs from it. this is how i do it
1. WARM WATER
2. WAIT to shave. i do it once a week, twice max. having too short hair will probably make you
bleed and ur skin gets irritated. THAT leads to ingrown hairs. if you have to shave more often, DONT do it against the grain (aka upwards)
3. make sure ur razor is good. remember to change it BUT be careful the first time u use it, it’s really sharp and can cut u easier

4. PLEASE be careful w this, but this is just what works for me: small/short strokes w the razor. idk why, but it works a lot better for me
5. sideways works great too! if you’re scared of switching to against the grain, but wanna try it, maybe start out by shaving sideways.

6. MOISTURIZE please do this every time i forget to it itches like crazy when it starts growing.
7. don’t wear tight underwear! whenever i do itch it’s 99% of the time bc of tight underwear in the first 1-2 days.
8. don’t shave FOR anyone except yourself. only shave if YOU want

IMPORTANT: everyone is different, i can’t guarantee that this will work for everyone. maybe you prefer not having it silky smooth either, that’s PERFECTLY fine. this is just a thread on how i get the smoothest results without waxing :) (big money saver)
