/ @HJS_Org inadvertently reveal how little research they actually do to come up with their endless reports...
/ @HJS_Org "we publish somewhere in the region of 500,000 words of research based on...hundreds of hours of original research". Even if we grant them 999hrs for "hundreds", that's less than an hour of research for every 500 words. https://henryjacksonsociety.org/errataandcorrigenda/
/ to put that into the context of academic work, at @HJS_Org rate of research to writing ratio, a 100,000 word PhD thesis could be written from 200hrs / less than two months of research (it usually takes more than 2 years)
/ or an 8,000 word journal article from 16hrs of research. Anyone in academia knows that this is absurd and such limited research as @HJS_Org trumpet would be unlikely to draw useful conclusions.
/ That @ukhomeoffice and others in government have cited @HJS_Org to discount academic findings is particularly troubling. We need much better research/academic literacy from government if we are to avoid the kind of policy-led "evidence" than @HJS_Org admit to churning out
