Alot of ppl don't seem to understand why she didn't want to call the cops. I don't want to scare you guys, but the cops can't protect you.

A restraining order just punishes, it doesn't solve the entitlement the abuser feels or keep the abuser from you physically
She discusses not wanting to escalate the violence and her feelings are very valid.

Keep in mind that he killed her when she tried to get away from him. The most dangerous time in an abusive relationship is when the survivor tries to leave
There are people asking why she didn't take it seriously or why she's defending her abuser

She is absolutely NOT defending her abuser. She is trying to appease him as a means of de-escalation.

Learn the difference! She add trying to save her own life
Work places are a very popular site of abuse.

Abusers often go to the workplace of survivors when they lose access to them. Ultimately we all have to work to survive, and you can't expect survivors to just quit their jobs and start new ones
Some states in America are trying to encourage employers to intervene favorably on behalf of survivors.

Some states are making employers civilly liable for not helping survivors.

It's really difficult. Abusers are relentless
He is also a pastor

And Ofcourse Ghanaian churches in America are major sites of patriarchal domination. Pastors will outright preach male dominance and shroud it in culture and religion.

Churches rarely hold abusers accountable and they often encourage victims to stay
TW deadly violence, intimate partner violence

For ppl saying it is aa simple as the brother beating him up, the brother did beat him up. And he still killed her.
