(2) This decreases conflict, and can lead to productive conversation and interaction.
Owning the libs, isn't as important as winning supporters or furthering your cause. Or most importantly your commitment to being a person of good character.

(3) Also remember, you only prove others right when they call you vile/hateful if you respond in such a way. It accomplishes nothing.

(4) ...acoountable without spreading further vitriol and hate. Violence begets violence, and evil words bring about more of the same.
Righteous indignation/anger is a good thing... but insulting others personally is not.
