0/ This week's childcare + covid update is just in time for some BREAKING NEWS. This is one update you're going to want to pay attention to

2/ “There is no data, none, zero, across the entire world, that shows children, especially young children, spread this virus to other children, or to adults or to their teachers. 3/ Here's the other thing. We also know mask wearing works. Trump is purposely keeping this information from you (see above article) but children should wear masks too!
4/ My 2 year old's preschool class is wearing masks. I was surprised but she adapted to it. Here are some good tips if your child is having trouble keeping their mask on https://winnie.com/post/tips-for-getting-my-kid-cb4a138a
5/ And if you have a choice, choose a daycare/preschool that requires masks for children (ages 2 and up) and teachers. You can find this data on Winnie as part of the new COVID-19 health & safety measures data we collect from all providers.
6/ This is especially important in an indoor setting. Initially I was hopeful about outdoor schooling especially in California where we have great weather all year. But the big gotcha is that our entire west coast is filled with smoky air that is too toxic to breathe
7/ So in summary: Kids can spread covid. Masks are super helpful though so kids can and should wear masks too. Don’t trust Trump who has been keeping this information from you.
