The reason there's going to be a general election is that this parliament can't achieve anything. It has reached zombie state
Johnson has got a majority of 80, but it's a phantom majority. As soon as he tries to resolve any policy it disappears
The one thing Johnson has to do in the next three months is resolve Brexit, and he can't.
He has agreed to a border in the Irish Sea, which he has now repudiated.
If Johnson repudiates his repudiation, the Brexiteers are going to slaughter him.
But if he sticks to his repudiation the House of Lords, the EU and the US Congress are going to slaughter him.
If Johnson agrees to a customs union as May did to remove the need for a border, the fanatics in his own party are going to slaughter him.
Wherever Johnson tries to put a border, his government is finished. If he tries to have no border,m his government is finished.
There is no policy that Johnson can pursue that will allow him to remain in his job.
Every day we go through this, and still people are dreaming of this English gentleman's Brexit coming to rescue them
If Johnson agrees to his own deal, which he has now repudiated, he will be forced to resign.
People need to understand this on an adult level. No prime minister can survive the repudiation of their own treaty
But when Johnson does repudiate his repudiation, as he must because it was his own treaty, his party is going to split wide open, his government will fall apart, and he will be forced to resign.
But if Johnson sits there refusing to budge from where he is now, like a child in a sulk, then the combined forces of the European Union, the United States Congress and the House of Lords will force the Conservative party to remove him.
All of this means that Boris Johnson will resign before the end of the year. It doesn't matter how many MPs he's got. he has got no viable policy and his position is now untenable.
And when Johnson does resign the new prime minister won't have a united party.
And so there will have to be another general election.
It's true that there won't be a general election this week.
But it's equally true that there will be an election within a few months simply because this parliament is incapable of governing the fucking country
