This is upsetting also because it was an opportunity for the BSA to show support to & solidarity with its membership & wider sociological community after a year away and in a crisis. Particularly as many of us have, and continue to, give our time & unpaid labour to make it run.

I would like to add that my comments about the fees & BSA decision are not about the conference itself, which looks great and is a wonderful opportunity for more people to get together & engage with sociology. That's also why the cost, which can be a barrier to this, is an issue.
