I just want to put it out there that if anybody feels they have nothing left worth living for then please let the cup of tea/coffee/vimto I’m willing to make be the thing that keeps you going a little bit longer.
T/W Mental Health
I’m not here to promote the current “check on your friends” rhetoric because for those who have lost friends to depression, the guilt of not checking in on them enough will never go away, even if they checked in with them constantly.
I’m not here to promote the current “check on your friends” rhetoric because for those who have lost friends to depression, the guilt of not checking in on them enough will never go away, even if they checked in with them constantly.
I’m here to promote males having the social equality of being able to speak out and openly about their mental health and be taken seriously.
I’m here to promote safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community, especially for young people struggling to come to terms with who they are or building the confidence to be themselves in public.
I’m here to demote the use of the word “psycho” when describing young women who feel and address their emotions.
I’m here to promote funding being put into our mental health services so there isn’t a minimum 8 week wait for a group counselling session and assessment.
I’m here to promote mental health professionals trained in depression, anxiety and eating disorders being placed in high schools and colleges, especially in this current climate.
Young people are struggling and it’s not because they’re snowflakes. Yes social media does have a lot to do with it but social media isn’t going to go away, so we need to change our mindsets. We need to promote inclusive role models and make social media a safe place for everyone
I’m here to promote the normalisation of medicating when you feel mentally unwell. The stigma around medication is that it makes you weak, that you can’t control your own emotions. This is not true. When you have an infection you take antibiotics, it should be that simple.
But most importantly I’m here if you wanna chat or if you don’t wanna chat, sometimes when you’re low just a little bit of company and not thinking about it for a while is the best remedy. And I make a really good brew.
