Yeah, I know.
I don't want to glamorize working 11-14hr billable hours a day. But I do want to share that that's the reality, and that's entirely a choice I considered many sides of and decided to make, as the owner of the studio.

I know when we think of indie game dev, we don't think associate that with marketing work right away. But I also think that I'm pretty ok at it, and that I like to improve on.
It's also one way for me to feel connected in a socially isolated & often disenfranchised world.

There's a lot of hidden effort that goes behind events for organizers and developers and PR folks, and a lot of forms and increasingly technical setup that we don't talk about as often. Sometimes there's the swell of Admin work at the same time because we have to ask permission >

IAB Gamescom concluded less than 2 weeks ago, Aug 30. In that time we're dissecting what we did well in, and what metrics I didn't take into consideration at the time. The tricky thing is that, for online events, we can get metrics within the duration of the event. Lulls me >

This is what my hours look like so far this week. It does very much mean that my dev hours dropped. I've been trying to make my meetings shorter. There's a cost - but also a balance - to everything.
This is all to say that I really believe in the importance of getting our @SolaceStateGame out there to more people who hopefully find the game revitalizing, because I really believe in our interactive story. And I really believe in my team, how *good* they all are.
So this is why we're at three incredible and inspiring events, run by awe-inspiring groups!
We all took time and hard work to get there.
I hope that we can all take a moment to enjoy it, and smell the roses too (talking to myself here especially). https://twitter.com/VividFoundry/status/1304510423761387523
