Our industry needs more musicians to advocate for our rights instead of celebrating corporations
The ”every musician for themselves” mentality has meant we get screwed over again and again. Join your union, speak up, and if you must give thanks for streams/ playlist ads, thank your fans, not Daniel Ek.
Most people don't know that major labels are investors/ stakeholders in streaming services, and thus these platforms are skewed against independent art makers.
Streaming pay rates are also not equally distributed. It's Orwellian by design: all musicians are equal but some are more equal than others
