“Also acting in concerted effort to undermine the authority of the President as Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces...

“several retired Generals wrote & spoke of possible coup. Gen. James Mattis said, “We can unite without the President.” Gen. Colin Powell said, “Trump was first President in his lifetime not trying to unite the country.”

“Gen. John Kelly said, “We need to look harder at who we elect.”
Gen. John Allen said, “Donald Trump isn’t religious, he has no need for religion & doesn’t care about the devout as long as they serve his political needs.”

“These declarations of military officers appear calculated to undermine the President’s authority to invoke the Insurrection Act to quell the current domestic disturbances.”

“Article 88 of UCMJ prohibits retired officers from using contemptuous words against the President of the United States. The officer’s comments appear to violate criminal law taken together with the letter advocating a military coup & suggest a deep sickness within the Pentagon..

“& within our constitutional structure. Talk of Military Insurrection should be responded to by Gen. Mark Milley referring the colonel’s letter to legal counsel for Joint Chiefs of Staff to determine whether it violates the UCMJ.”

“Sec. of Defense Mark Esper has an obligation to issue grave warnings against officers both active duty & retired who seek to overthrow the President of US Armed Forces. Officers should be issued permanent reprimands cautioning against criminal violations of Article 88.”

“Undermining the authority of the Commander in Chief represents a clear and present danger to survival of our republic. The @DeptofDefense must act resolutely to restore public confidence. Americans deserve assurance that our nation will not be overthrown by a military cabal.”
