Digital sales taxes are paid by consumers, who will face higher prices for Internet services. Companies like Netflix merely collect & remit the tax. Mandated licences for linking to news articles is simply inexplicable. Referrals from social media sites generates millions for Canadian news orgs. Mandating licences will lead to blocked news sharing, increase misinformation & hurt the media sector. 4/4 https://twitter.com/mgeist/status/1304085040683520001
