On this day, 8 years ago.
A group of Libyan extremists attacked the US Consulate in Benghazi killing 4 Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.
Today, the International community & the US recognise a government who funds and supports that same group.
Ansar AlSharia Commander Mohammed AlZahawai was the mastermind behind the attack on the consulate. He later formed Benghazi Shura Revolutionary Council with Wissam Bin Hmaid.
Zeyad Balaam, who fought alongside AlZahawi in Benghazi and was a BRSC commander was seen fighting for the GNA in Tripoli against the Libyan National Army back in 2019.
The US & International community continue to support the GNA who have clear ties and links to extremists and mercenaries.
That’s the reality in Libya today.
