Understanding: to posses an awareness of the nature and significance of; know or comprehend

that’s the actual def.

this is what people usually mean when they say it...

Understanding: outright agreeing w/ me or if you disagree being quiet & nodding along w/ w/e I’m saying

I can understand why people may do something that is wrong or have thought patterns that are wrong.

I will not applaud it.

I will not agree with it.

I will not participate in it.

I will understand it and then speak the truth in love.

Today, “understanding” is being basterdized & twisted into a weapon to beat away any kind of accountability.

Me: Biblically, xyz is not correct...

Them: You really need to be more “understanding”...

I understand that the only reason people are doing or thinking wrong is sin.

I understand that I’m not doing what someone who is demanding the culture’s version of “understanding” is doing is because of the grace of God, so that bolsters my love as I speak truth.

The Bible gives us all the understanding that we need about the inherent predicament and proclivity of all men to be sinful sinners, and it tells us that we are among them. It also tells us of Christ, who makes dead sinners into a new creation that seeks His goodness and glory..

So, we have all the understanding that we need..we now need to take that into the world and not let it shush

us with a bastardized term.
