yesterday, i met a guy from sacremento. he saw me in my Kittle jers & had to ask why i’m a fan of the 49ers. we got to chatting all things football: he told me his love for the raiders, how he now lives in san diego with his wife, & how a few football players changed his life.
he got teary-eyed & told me his rough past, how he somehow made it out & is now in med school. he then asked me about my passions, so i told him my dream of reporting in the NFL some day. i told him i had an interview with Emmanuel Moseley in a couple hours & he smiled SO hard.
he said, “keep that passion. i see it in your eyes. i feel it here, right now. bring that into your writing & everything you do. you’ll get to exactly where you’re meant to be & you could change someone’s life with your words. just like someone did for mine. keep going.”
i didn’t know how much i needed HIS words last night & even typing this now, i have tears in my eyes. that man gave me a lil nudge to stay on my dream & i went on to rock my interview—thanks again, Manny

life is truly beautiful. sometimes, there’s a lot of pain behind that beauty. trust me, i know that more than anyone in this moment. but if you take time to reflect & open your heart to the universe, it will guide you & remind you that you are exactly where you’re meant to be
