Many of Chile's finest artists and brightest left-wing minds were housed in the concentration camps due to their support for Salvador Allende and his socialist government.
Many were disappeared, tortured and/or killed with many families still searching for answers today.

The Chicago Boys policy of economics in the country under Pinochet's regime meant repression for the majority and economic success for small privileged groups that rule the country today...quite literally in the case of Sebastian Piñera.
This was always an obvious ticking time bomb, that I wrote about on here for many years. Last year the people finally rose up to challenge the privileged few in the country.
