I'm not terribly interested in looking back, what happened 19 years ago, was awful. My heart goes out to all who are still grieving.

But politically, 9-11 planted some nasty seeds in our nation's soul and we are seeing the harvest of division and hate in 2020.
What started as hating a certain type of person and lapping up the government propaganda in the aftermath of 9-11, has devolved into something so potent and ugly.

A worshipping of whiteness and a disregard for truth.
You look back over the last 19 years and you can see the thru line that gave us this moment.

A dumbing down of the general populace, expanded government, all kinds of awful.
To be clear, pre 9-11 America was no panacea, but 9-11 cracked us.

Our pain and anger and need for revenge has caused global harm and destroyed us.

We were told we were too good for such things to happen on our soil. That thinking isn't healthy.
The jingoistic moment of post 9-11 America set the stage for the isolationist America of 2020.

By all means, don't forget but let's be critical in our thought.
Maybe in the end, America might need to crash and the suffering will be great. But when I look back over the last 19 years and this moment, there is no hope.

Our lawmakers won't even take care of us during a pandemic due to fixed ideology. We are lied to daily.
Anyway let this day be what you need it to be.

Blessings.
