Recently, I have seen concerns on social media about supplementary benefits for Income Support clients, particularly additional shelter benefits. I want to assure you that there have been no changes to any benefits, eligibility or funding in the Income Support program.

Front-line staff are working w/ Albertans who are receiving Income Support to make sure these benefits are delivered consistently across the province. In some cases, supplementary benefit recipients may need to provide updated documentation to confirm they remain eligible.

Our goal is to ensure benefits are provided to those who need them most and are being delivered to Albertans in a fair, equitable way. I encourage Income Support clients to discuss their individual needs with their caseworkers. #ableg
