You know I've been blathering on about the opportunities and innovation that have come out of the pandemic? Well, I also keep thinking that audience is EVERYTHING. My advice, as always on this, is build your own and do not rely on your publisher or anyone else.
Worth remembering that most publishers will not be able to access a database of your fans/prospective fans (ie they haven't built their email databases with individual authors in mind). There are a tiny few exceptions.
So, authors, if you build your email list to even 200, 300, 500 of your readers - you can do stuff with that. But also, think about adding fans of your genre too. The more you collaborate with your peers, the easier this is to do. Pretty sure you all know this already anyway x
And if you don't want to use Mailerlite or Mailchimp, which involve plugging into your website (not hard at all), then consider @substackinc - super easy newsletter platform (& you can charge for newsletters too). Shout if you have any questions! #BookMarketing #EmailMarketing
