so many of the countries people want to escape to, the locals also have a desire to escape. that’s the contradiction i’m asking us to sit with. because our ability to escape the u.s. and find paradise somewhere else is because we will often have access that locals don’t.

americans are able to go abroad and receive well paying jobs that locals aren’t even considered for simply because of an american education. all of this is apart of having access to a better life.
