Commander-in-chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces Gen. Surovikin says NATO reconnaissance aircraft conducted an 'unprecedented operation' over the Black Sea on September 4.
According to him, five reconnaissance aircraft and one strategic UAV [possibly Global Hawk] were simultaneously in the air. They approached the Russian border by 15 kilometers and conducted reconnaissance of the territory of the to a depth of 600 kilometers.
On the same day, three American strategic bombers B-52H approached the Russian border [over Ukraine] by 30 kilometers, the commander-in-chief of the Aerospace Forces said.
The Russian military believes that cruise missile strikes against targets located in the territory of the Southern Military District were practiced during this operation.
Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces Gen. Surovikin added that he considers the US B-52H strategic bombers flights near the Russian borders as being 'hostile and provocative.'
The commander-in-chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces claims that US B-52H bombers practiced a cruise missile strikes against Russia also in the end of August, from the territory of Canada and Estonia.
Also, according to the assessment of the Russian Aerospace Forces command, three American B-52H bombers practiced cruise missile strikes on the Kaliningrad region on August 31 over the territory of the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and the Baltic countries.
