1/ "Consenting adults." That's rhetoric we're all familiar with. For more than 70 years it's been a key phrase in the propaganda arsenal of sexual revolutionaries. "Liberation" from traditional norms of sexual morality wasn't to include or result in the sexualization of children.

2/ This was nonsense. Yet many people believed it. And some continue to believe it, despite the evidence staring them in the face. For more than fifty years, we’ve witnessed in popular culture the sexualization of children at younger and younger ages. It is scarcely a secret.

3/ Now Netflix gives us “Cuties.” Look, you can have the sexual revolution or you can have childhood innocence. You can't have both. If you want the sexual revolution, know that the sexualization of children comes with the package. It's part of the deal.

4/ Its impact won't be confined to “consenting adults.” The claim that children could be shielded from its ravages was a fairy tale. There was never an excuse for believing it--not in 1980, not even back in 1950. In 2020, believing it requires a Herculean act of self-deception.”
