Liverpool and FSG - a thread.
Remember Martin Broughton? I do. I remember fearing our club could become the next Leeds at the time he was involved in getting shut of the 2 cowboys who were rinsing us and getting FSG in. Spade in the ground ringing any bells?
Reason I bring this up is because we play Leeds tomorrow and there’s a lot of FSG noise on here. It’s taken Leeds years to recover from the Ridsdale era. Yet here we are, having won the European Cup and Premier League, seeing so many moaning about our owners.
If it wasn’t for them it could’ve been us making the Premier League return. “Should be signing Thiago.” “Klopp wanted Werner and they didn’t back him.” Maybe. Maybe not. Truth is none of us know because it’s all in house. The way it should be.
It’s almost like the club is being run properly again! Wonder who is responsible for that? Instead of moaning about FSG and our lack of activity so far in the transfer market, perhaps we should be more grateful. Yes the club they bought for millions is now worth billions.
That’s business. And that’s what footy is these days when it comes to clubs and owners. Yes FSG aren’t perfect and they’ve made mistakes. Yes I wish we were throwing millions on Thiago, the forward I think we need and the centre half instead of thinking Fabinho can fill in there.
But this is nothing new - Milner left back for a season anyone? This is how Klopp operates. He waits for his man (VVD & Keita further proof). He doesn’t waste a penny.
All I know is we’ve got the best manager in the world, a team that gives everything, plays superb football and wins trophies. Give me that over winning transfer windows any day. #LFC
