A thought for those who suspect (or fear) that “rule of law” concerns about the current government trying to breach its agreements don’t engage the wider public much (such things don’t, until they hit personally).
A government that negotiates an agreement, sells it and rushes it through as an excellent agreement needing little scrutiny, and then tries to wriggle out of what it has agreed at the cost of infuriating our closest trading partners isn’t just holding the rule of law in contempt.
It is also incompetent.
Those of us who are concerned about the rule of law might also think about stressing that point, too.
