I don't believe the stories of Suella Braverman's ineptitude - not least because the AG can call on the best specialists in the country.

From this (dis)belief two rather grim propositions suggest themselves.

First, to get along in politics these days what's required is that you offer yourself up as a moral sandbag, protecting higher-ups from the consequences that attach to their actions, not yours.

Second, if Braverman is not inept what does this suggest about her giving advice consistent with ineptitude?
