The only reason people buy whatever you're selling is because of the story you tell or the story the product itself tells. Have you noticed that most iPhone users in Nigeria really don't have a need for it?

Yes! They are buying class, there is a still voice that tells every iPhone user that iPhone makes them classic. It's not their fault, it is the story iPhone sells to them. You must tell a story because people buy based on emotion. Find a way to appeal to your target's emotion.
You'd think buyers have their minds made up or are savvy in making choices but it's all No! The first time I bought a Tissot wrist watch, I did it out of emotion! No rational reason, just pure emotion.
Lol,after buying it I ended up asking myself;Jide, to what end? How much do I earn? How much have i even given my mother this month? But here I've just bought a watch worthing about 30k? The next day, I placed it on OLX and I got a buyer instantly.Took 4k & bought a Rado jeje.
There's actually no difference between both watches but I wanted to identify with the caliber of people that wear Tissot.

Most times,we create an illusory view of ourselves. We struggle to create a sense of class for ourselves. In street parlance, we like to feel among.
When I realized built guys often wear Adidas sneakers where I work out, because I'm moderately built too, I started making conscious effort to buying nothing except Adidas sneakers! I should have told myself "me and these people don't fall in the same category"
Some of them are rich folks from upper class background, some are top tier entrepreneurs probably! But since I found myself in that circle, I struggled to maintain the image. Every decisions I made in relation to buying what I need were predicated on emotion
Invariably, the same thing happens to virtually all consumers. I've read some few journals on consumer psychology and majority have proved that truly, we 99.9% of the time make purchase decision based on emotion. Personally I tried to test the hypothesis too.
We went on an exhibition and I was part of the team to introduce our App to parents. I notice that all the parents I told that Corona school uses our app were eager to know more and even try it out. Why? Corona is a big school in Lagos.
Nigerians like to show off so there's already a feeling of if I subscribe to this app, "My child will be on the same level with Corona kids" Even though it's not totally true but there's already a sense of "I'm big" that comes with that.
I feel that pushing price forward first isn't the best way to sell.First of all appeal to the emotion, tie the whatever you want to sell to the person's emotion. Eventually "FOMO" ( Fear of missing out) will set in.
The person would start feeling like if he or she doesn't buy, then they are missing out. At this point you're halfway there! Most people use false discount to close the sale and make the person commit.
