These concepts were specifically constructed to justify stripping Black people of their rights and property and enslaving them.
Just like YT people weren't called "white" during colonization. They identified as Spaniards, Polish, Irish, Italian, etc..

Africans didn't identify as Black people. There are over 3000 ethnicities in Africa. There are ~2000 languages spoken in Africa.
I don't understand how many times we have to remind folks that Africa is a CONTINENT, a rather large one.

Furthermore, African slavery was NOTHING like the chattel slavery that went on during the trans-Atlantic slave trade.
It was more like indentured servitude where they were enslaved to pay off debt, pay for a crime, or they were taken as a prisoner of war.

...the slaves in Africa could have children that were not born slaves.
