On the anniversary of my 6th year streaming on @Twitch I want to leave a few things I've learned in my 6 years as a streamer. (No, this isn't for veteran streamers)

Let's start here:

-Don't keep any viewer around who disrespects you or your channel just to have a view.
-Having good equipment doesn't make you a good streamer. You can get by with what you have and slowly upgrade your setup
-Don't expect friends who stream, also being in your stream as well.
-The grind is real but don't let it completely take over your life. Take a break.
-Partnership is not the be all & end all. It is just the beginning.
-DO NOT QUIT A JOB to stream, UNLESS, you have a stable income. It's not worth the risk
-Nightbot bans everything
-The industry is very small, you may not know everyone but people see a lot more than you think.
-Don't look at your viewer count.
-Reaching out to a company? DO NOT tell them “I’m a small streamer so you probably won’t look at me.😞”. Be confident.
-Most things can be googled before asking someone.
-Have substance in going live tweets. “I’m live” then link probably gets ya 0 engagement. Add flavor i.e. GIFs
-Don’t tag other streamers or people to watch you, easy way to get blocked. UNLESS you are working with them.
-Push to Talk in CO-OP streams is your friend.
-When people give you money, that is a TIP, not a donation. Donations are for charity, streamers aren’t charity.
-Learn about chargebacks and policies on it ASAP.
-Streaming on WiFi is bad. No
-If you being harassed, please please make sure to report every time.
-Protect your personal info at all cost. It is easy to gain a connection with your viewers but you need to set boundaries.
It’s almost midnight so that concludes my 6 year anniversary tips. I have quite a few YouTube videos that go into more. All of this was at free cost! But if you’d like to tip, at https://ko-fi.com/iambrandon  or send a free follow to my twitch channel at http://twitch.tv/iambrandon .
