For example, it is really frustrating when the heroine's insecurity is the main obstacle.
Yet, at the same time, insecurity & fear of violent and humiliating rejection IS a lived experience of many fat women's lives

This is why, thinking about the earlier conversation on having to be out in order to be a queer writer, representation in texts is a tricky goddamned business
Effectively, I think the solution is more number and more varied representation
To be fair, the author does ask this same question. I just think it needs to be repeated and I DO think it is extremely important to see fear and trauma played put in a story that offers some kind resolution or justice for those experiences
And of course it is important to see representation that doesn’t rely on those fears and traumas
