#4 inherited her dad's record collection. milk crates full of hundreds of albums, dozens of 45's. she & her hub have been going thru them. they bought a kijiji book stand& a cheap record player, picked out what they figured were the best and alphabetized them into the shelf /1
she proudly showed me their installation, and pulled out records one at a time to show me the cool things she discovered about them - a psychadelic vinyl, a detailed paper insert. She said "I even found one with your maiden name written on it". /2
there was a duplic of Neil Young Harvest - one for playing, one for keeping. Another album with Neil's autograph on it along with the newspaper clipping of him coming to Fredericton. /3
She couldn't figure out the 45's. "how do you play these?". I told her about the little insert you needed and told her some record players had a plug that you could lift up to play them. "why are they called 45's?" /4
I explained rpm's. I made me feel less foolish about not being able to understand their romote control TV.
I asked if she found a few of my favourite albums. She couldn't remember all the ones she saw. There were still crate loads to go through. /5

I'll go up one day when they're all at work & school and catalogue them as I play them and reminisce. It was good to see how much joy they brought her and made her loss less painful. 6/6
