While the @SenateGOP whines about how they couldn't pass their completely inadequate "relief" bill, here are just a few reasons we need the #HEROESAct ($3T) and not a $300B crumb from #MoscowMitch.

I can't think of a single country that's fought off COVID without robust testing & tracing programs.

#HEROESAct: contains $75B for testing and tracing.
GOP bill: $16B for testing and tracing.

I haven't spoken to a single person who thought another $1200 stimulus check was going to get them through this crisis - but it's better than nothing.

#HEROESAct: Provides for a 2nd round of $1200 stimulus checks.
GOP bill: NOPE.

I know TONS of people who are still out of work or underemployed, esp here in #NYC.

Here's what @TheDemocrats wanted you to have in the #HEROESAct: an extension of the +$600/week enhanced unemployment insurance

The GOP thinks +$300/week (+$1200/month) is enough.

If you, like me, live in a state/locality that was hit hard by COVID, you know what our budget gaps look like right now. Appalling.

#HEROESAct: $500B to states, $20B to tribes, $20B to territories.
GOP bill: No additional aid to states & localities.

If you're not working, you can't pay your rent or your mortgage. But during a pandemic you ought to stay home anyways.

#HEROESAct: Extends rental and mortgage protections so people can stay in their homes during this pandemic
GOP bill: NOPE.

And finally - don't forget the GOP bill's liability shield - now that they've made it so you're forced to work in unsafe conditions to keep your family fed and a roof over your head, they also want to make it harder to sue over COVID-related claims.

Not part of the #HEROESAct

In other words...

The GOP tried to pass a messaging bill, and the message to Americans was "Drop dead."

Good on the Democrats for knocking them back.
