Haven't watched #NewGaels, but I decided to compile just a small few of some of the very best New Gaels we've been so lucky to receive in recent years #NewToTheParish
In 2016 Brazilian rickshaw driver Rafael Tiso took a incredibly drunk girl from security at a nightclub, pretending to be her friend, walked her down to a Dublin City laneway and brutally raped her for 40 minutes before casually walking back to the club. She can't have kids
naturally now. She was found lying unconscious between two cars by two Good Samaritans who thought she was dead. Tiso was jailed for 13 years but successfully appealed the severity of the sentence b/c (I shit you not) he plead guilty & he's far from home https://www.shannonside.ie/news/dublin-rickshaw-driver-raped-woman-sentence-reduced/
Eritrean national Bereket Mekonnen brutally raped a 42-year-old woman in St Stephen's Green in August 2005, the very same month we gave him refugee status. Made it impossible for a judge to sentence him on rape charges in the Central Criminal Court because he was either "violent,
drunk or in a state of undress." Following his release in 2014 he was granted residency as he couldn't be deported to his war-torn country under UN/EU rules. Was living in Dublin in 2014, don't know where he is now. https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/courts/rapist-is-granted-residency-status-after-visa-expires-30858460.html
Emmanuel Adeniji raped a 73 year old with Alzheimer's in a nursing home in the early hours of the April 3rd, during the height of lockdown. She was later found in a distressed state by staff. He denied rape but later plead guilty after his DNA matched a sample from the victim.
Egyptian national and asylum seeker Mohamad Morei claimed to be fighting for ISIS when he went on a knife rampage (burglary too) in Dundalk, Louth in January 2018, attacking two Irish fellas and stabbing to death Japanese student Yosuke Sasaki. Not guilty by reason of insanity.
In a written statement after the verdict, the deceased’s older sister, Shiori Sasaki, said that she could not understand “why a mentally unstable foreign national, whose origin was unknown, was allowed to be in the town.” https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/isis-fighter-mohamed-more-found-not-guilty-by-reason-of-insanity-over-fatal-stabbing-of-yosuke-sasaki-bwlzvwpzx
In November 2006 Nigerian immigrant Kristoff Emmanuel Alauya savagely raped, bit, stabbed and murdered 38-year-old mother of one Grace Moore in West Belfast. He ransacked her home, stole her stuff and then went for burgers, rice and chocolate. Her half-naked, bloodied body
was found spreadeagle on the kitchen floor by her 16-year-old daughter the next morning, who ran screaming from the house. Police described this case as one of the most horrifying cases ever seen in the 6 counties. https://www.pressreader.com/uk/belfast-telegraph/20091010/281741265477111
In February 2015 Ghanaian nationals Kelvin Opoku and Boakye Osei picked up an incredibly intoxicated young woman in Donegal, took her back to a house and raped her. The victim had to attend a hospital to be put on anti-HIV medicine because of the ethnicity of the accused.
They both plead not guilty but got 9 years each. The victims said the men had robbed her of the last five years of her life. The details of this case, the denials of the defendants are horrifying. https://www.thesun.ie/news/4744377/donegal-residents-guilty-rape-student-2015/
In 2001, failed Nigerian asylum seeker Jacob Odubajo (no picture unfortunately) drove down Henry Street in Dublin at 60mph knocking down shoppers like "skittles in a bowling alley". He sped down the crowded pedestrianised street without slowing or swerving to avoid people before
ploughing into the back of a stationary construction van. He somehow managed to only put 10 people in hospital, 2 with serious injuries. Odubajo had received a letter on the morning of the incident refusing him asylum. https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/driver-jailed-for-lunchtime-joyride-through-henry-st-that-injured-10-26031287.html
In June 2013 Pakistani national Faisal Ellahi raped a woman with Down Syndrome at his home in Dublin. The Judge said Ellahi had "demolished" years of work in helping the woman lead an independent life. He claimed he didn't know she had a mental impairment. He said she looked
"normal” to him and that she enjoyed herself. He said he never heard of Down syndrome until his arrest. The court heard evidence from 16 women who were approached by Ellahi in thearea around the time of the rape. https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-30831587.html
On November 1st of 2016 Latvian drug dealer Rihards Lavickis chased a fellow foreign dealer across a busy street before stabbing him to death in broad daylight outside Longford Shopping Centre. The deceased allegedly threatened Lavickis' family over €100
