1/ I am deeply honored to be included in the #WIRED25 list of People Who Are Making Things Better. Thank you @WIRED for the recognition!
I want to use this opportunity to talk about recognition & how stuff gets done. https://www.wired.com/story/wired25-2020-people-making-things-better/

2/ The bottom line is that it's always, always, always about the team. In the broad sense. The @voting_works team, as well as the mentors and colleagues I've had. The amazing election offiicals I've had the privilege of working with. The teachers. The advisors.
3/ The world want to believe in singular "heroes." This one person invented X. This other person cured disease Y. Ben Adida is solving voting security.
That's never the case. There's always a team.
That's never the case. There's always a team.
4/ And everyone plays a critical role on that team. Today, I have the privilege of being the leader of my team. But that's just one role among many critical roles.
I want to highlight @voting_works team members without whom I would not have received this recognition.

5/ There's my co-founder @mattpasternack, who does so much it doesn't fit in a tweet, and who, in particular, found VotingWorks's first customers and has led our work with jurisdictions around the country.
6/ There's @beau who designs such incredible user experiences, he's helping set a new bar for how easy and delightful voting should be.
7/ There's @jakemoritz1 who makes all hardware beautiful, easy, and effortless.
8/ There's Charlie Munford, who's anchored all of our work in Mississippi and whose love for all users of VotingWorks products shines through every day.
9/ There's @mcranechilders, who is the world's top expert in the implementation of risk-limiting audits, not to mention every other aspect of election administration. She's leading our risk-limiting audit software (and more.)
10/ There's Morgan, who single-handedly built the first front-end for Arlo, the risk-limiting audit tool we'll be deploying in a number of states this Fall.
11/ There's @eventualbuddha, who completely revamped our voting-machine software stack to be more secure and reliable, and single-handedly built our hand-marked paper ballot scanning technology.
12/ There's @ginvdr, who's bringing her decades of experience in election administration to bear on everything we do at VotingWorks, in particular deploying risk-limiting audits in the field this year. RLAs don't just happen. She's making them happen.
13/ There's Jonah, who leads all backend work on Arlo, and who's taken my code and turned it into a work of art.
14/ There's @danwallach, who needs no introduction and is working on making risk-limiting audits publicly verifiable for even more election transparency.
15/ There's Matt Roe, who in his first 3 months has already completely upended (in a good way) our understanding of the voting machine market.
16/ And just recently we had the privilege of having @umbernhard join the team. He's working on advancing the state of the art in RLA math, voting equipment integrity, and security+usability of voting equipment.
17/ if I deserve this recognition, it is thanks to them. Nothing gets done by a single human. There's always a team.
Thank you, @voting_works team!
