Folks, I love Dune, and when I say I love Dune I mean every single solitary wonderful and stupid thing about it and surrounding it. Here is a thread with as many of those things as I can think of. 1/??

Do I love every part of the book where people react to the Fremen like Dragonball Z characters react to the power levels of villains? I love it very much. 4/

Do I love the litany against fear? I allow its love to pass over me and through me. 5/

Do I love all of you here on this website demanding the big worm? I do. Please keep doing it. 6/

Do I love that you can sing "ZENDAYA IS CHANI!!!" in the same way you can sing "ZENDAYA IS MEECHEE" ? It is the only gift this year has given me, and indeed I love it. 7/

Do I love that John Rhys Davies was in the Dune 2000 Command & Conquer clone? I very much do. 8/

Do I love Jodorowsky's Dune, both the documentary and the nonexistent movie? I surely do. 9/

Do I love the David Lynch AKA Alan Smithee 1984 Dune movie? Every minute of the damn thing. Do not try to tell me it is bad. 10/

I love that the fate of the universe in Dune turns on half-naked knife fights, that every conversation is somehow also a (well-dressed, I guess) knife fight, and that you qualify for prophet status provided you can trip balls harder than anybody else. 11/

I love that what with all the knife fighting, nobody thought about the fact Paul just has nukes in his pocket and that when he uses them, people whine at him about it and he makes fun of them. 12/

I love the end, where the villains all die or get yelled at and shuffle off sadly to a life of sucking forever. 13/

I love the one specific shot in the Sci Fi Channel miniseries where Thufir Hawat is like Nuuuuuuuuuu!!!!! and then explodes and he's gone. Also Irulan having an actual role in that series. Don't, uh, ask me about the rest of it. 14/

I love the PC game from the early 90s where they had Sting and Kyle MacLachlan's likenesses and you gradually conquered the entire planet and forgot which sietch you left Gurney at. 15/

Do I love Picard with a pug in the middle of an apocalyptic desert battle? I do indeed love it. 16/

Do I love Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice," and the random lyric "walk without rhythm and it won't attract the worm" ? I do, in fact. 17/

I did also love when a sandworm pops up in The Critic. 18/

I love that Frank Herbert describes the aesthetic of nearly nothing in Dune, but that everybody who gets their hands on it goes as absolutely weird as possible. 19/

I love that in the future of Dune, gun control is no more complicated than "You will cause a thermonuclear explosion if you hit a shield, so just never use one." 20/

Do I even love that there is no possible way the future of this upcoming franchise is going to have disposable Jason Momoa clones? Yes, because it's in my mind now and therefore exists. 21/
