Thread on how covid guidelines are supporting many children in schools I.e. school feels easier.
1/
No assemblies meaning no having to sit still, crossed legged, on the floor, lightly touching others and listening!
Consistent teachers. (Due to bubbles)
Not stress of getting changed for PE... children are going in in the mornings already in PE kit.
Getting to wear PE kit all day at least one day a week which for many Is more comfortable than uniform
Staggered breaks/lunches meaning the dinner halls are less crowded and noisy
Staggered start and finish times meaning less crowds at the school gates
A focus on well being in many schools
Having own equipment that cannot be used/taken by others
Teachers not being able to touch/lean over/get so close to students ( this came from my daughter who doesn’t like people close to her, but I accept some children may miss this)
I’m wondering if some of these could stay in place after covid... particularly the PE kit one
Please add any more you think of
Just to add these are collaborated from my experiences & perspective. To give some context I work with autistic children, I parent 2 autistic children & I’m autistic . As always children are all different & require different approaches which can be hard for schools to implement
