👩🏽‍💻 Cold emailing a stranger? 👀

💗 Ever sent out this really heartfelt message to someone asking for advice and never got a response? You put your heart and soul into it and that hurts, right?

💡 But, there's a better way. 👇🏻 /THREAD
🌟1) Figure out what YOU actually need help with...be specific!
🌟2) Make sure the person you're asking ACTUALLY HAS the expertise to help you. Don't just pick someone you admire, pick someone who has the background required to give you advice.
🌟3) Do your research. Spend at least 30 minutes researching this person and their background. DO NOT skip this step!
🌟4) Make your message SHORT and specific. No one is going to want to read 1,000 words of cold outreach. Explain why you need help and why you think they could help.
🌟5) Make a CONCRETE ask. The more specific and tangible your ask, the more targeted the advice back will be.
🌟6) Thank them. Duh! Show you are grateful they are taking the time to consider your request.
🌟7) Finally (the MOST important for building a reputation with new people)... Follow up! Let them know you implemented their advice. People giving free advice really just want to know that you respect their time and that you did something useful with their advice.
