I was listening to an Urdu lecture by Mufti Tariq Masood, where he was discussing atheism. He said something so profound.

He talks about how atheists push forward scientism as the explanation to every natural phenomenon, and use it to attack religion.

[Thread I guess 🔖]
People in the past had no explanation for natural phenomena & occurrences such as hurricanes, earthquakes, eclipses and so on, so took them as divine signs. Now science came in and gave us explanations for each of these, and some people say this explains away the concept of God
He then gives an example of his simple watch. But how elegantly its mechanism is set up. Precise movements of its hands, working through energy provided by its battery. We take it for granted, but it's a wonderful little device.
Show this basic wrist watch to a primitive living in the jungle, he would be baffled and assume it's sorcery of some kind.

But educate him on its functions and it would make sense, but he still would be amazed at the mind of the designer of this simple wrist watch.
Science on its own tells you the logic behind phenomena. But who is the ultimate creator of this perfect order and consistent logic behind everything?

Why does the atheist not take this thinking deeper to contemplate how all this order could come out of nothing for no purpose?
رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقۡتَ هَٰذَا بَٰطِلٗا سُبۡحَٰنَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

"Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire."
