Some tings that have helped me when I’m feeling “inadequate” as an artist:
(a thread cause I’m wordy AF)

• If you feel like nobody gives a hoot about your art, do it for yourself rather than for others. You gotta be your own biggest fan. It goes a long way to cheer yourself on.
• Grind through the ugly pieces that you don’t even like. Having created something at all equates to practice. And practice makes what? Improvement.

• NEVER stop creating for fun. Once you start doing it like you have to keep up with the industry standard, you’ll burn out.
• Try not to be your own harshest critic. It’s easy to bash your work if you’re not feeling it, but what good is it in punishing yourself when you can literally just ✨try again✨

• DO NOT EVER compare your work to others. You WILL get depressed & you WILL consider giving up.
• Take each creation you make as a learning experience. This way you’ll always feel like you’re getting better. Because trust, you definitely are ❤️

• Love yourself. Become your own favorite artist 💯

• Experiment with some new techniques from time to time! It’s quite fun.
• Find other creators who are also on a journey towards growth. I’ve found that it feels so nice to support & be supported by artists who you admire. You can become friends, draw inspiration from one another, motivate one another, all kinds of benefits!
• And this one’s important ⬇️
