Oh my god.

Some of the wealthiest, most powerful people in the world just wrote to the mayor of New York complaining about “public safety, cleanliness and other quality of life issues.”

These are literally the people who fake-live in Florida and Connecticut to avoid NYC taxes. https://twitter.com/jdavidgoodman/status/1304146968306999301
If the CEO of General Atlantic is worried about homelessness, maybe don't load your target companies up with so much debt that they have to squeeze workers.
If the CEO of Citigroup is worried about public safety, maybe avoid lobbying for the financial deregulation that causes economic meltdowns that drive people to desperation.
PLUTES GONNA PLUTE, people.

These people have the gall to evade and avoid taxes, lobby and advertise against public policy to help people, kill jobs, raid pensions, gouge people on medicines they need, cause financial crises -- and then write to the government with a lecture?
Perhaps I have misunderstood. Perhaps the signatories to this letter all agree that they must pay higher taxes. Perhaps today will mark the start of their lobbying campaign to that effect.

In that case, bravo. https://twitter.com/jdavidgoodman/status/1304146968306999301
But please don't you dare defraud our communities, defang our government, and defund public investment for years -- and then write letters complaining about reaping what you have sown.
