Oh my god.
Some of the wealthiest, most powerful people in the world just wrote to the mayor of New York complaining about “public safety, cleanliness and other quality of life issues.”
These are literally the people who fake-live in Florida and Connecticut to avoid NYC taxes. https://twitter.com/jdavidgoodman/status/1304146968306999301

If the CEO of Pfizer is worried about healthy living conditions in New York, maybe don't price gouge New Yorkers. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/is-pfizer-raising-drug-prices-too-much-in-2020-2020-01-02
If the CEO of General Atlantic is worried about homelessness, maybe don't load your target companies up with so much debt that they have to squeeze workers.

PLUTES GONNA PLUTE, people.
These people have the gall to evade and avoid taxes, lobby and advertise against public policy to help people, kill jobs, raid pensions, gouge people on medicines they need, cause financial crises -- and then write to the government with a lecture?

Perhaps I have misunderstood. Perhaps the signatories to this letter all agree that they must pay higher taxes. Perhaps today will mark the start of their lobbying campaign to that effect.
In that case, bravo. https://twitter.com/jdavidgoodman/status/1304146968306999301
