Let's talk about cases per capita!

Thinking about new cases in relation to the population of an area helps give some more context.

I'm sure we can all agree that "50 new cases reported in New York City" hits different than "50 new cases reported in Unicoi County"
Let's take today's case counts into consideration. I'm sure you noticed that Washington County is reporting the most cases today with 37 new cases. But Washington County has a relatively bigger population than surrounding counties.
Washington County's 37 new cases today equals about 29 new cases per 100,000 residents. Sullivan County's 18 new cases today equals about 11 new cases per 100,000 residents.
Today, Carter and Johnson counties are reporting the biggest increase PER CAPITA in NETN.

Carter: 21 new cases = 37 new cases per 100,000 residents
Johnson: 9 new cases = 51 new cases per 100,000 residents
I don't really know how to end this thread I just wanted to give another perspective. Carry on.
