Many of us knew & kept quiet b/c it's not our place to make that information public.
To see Dak open up, and in a world where men are VILIFIED for needing therapy to fight depression (especially MEN OF COLOR), and perpetuate that toxic construct?
YOU ARE TRASH @RealSkipBayless. https://twitter.com/SlaterNFL/status/1304121550573056002

The irony of literally seeing this after having a full-on conversation on the #CatchThisFade pod with @KDDrummondNFL about THIS VERY THING is INFURIATING.
As a survivor of suicide and daily depression fighter -- who tf are you to question what Dak is feeling? @RealSkipBayless

I hope you take this opportunity to LEARN and EDUCATE yourself on not only the dangers of depression, but also the societal taboos placed upon men and men of color when it comes to this topic.
Applaud Dak for being a testimony. It might've just saved someone's life.
Or shut up.

It's that simple, because either you're helping strip away the taboos surrounding depression or you're helping to keep it alive, and that latter is unacceptable in 2020.
DO BETTER. GET EDUCATED.
Before you cost someone their life who need to hear prominent people be vulnerable.

Sometimes it's the light bulb moment for someone struggling in the dark -- to say "oh man... THEY fight with it too? Maybe it's OK to seek help."
t is. So seek it. And stop letting idiots make you feel guilty for needing help.
Being vulnerable is a strength. Not a weakness.

It took me DECADES to realize this -- along with PROFESSIONAL HELP and a support system of those who showed me I'm valuable, but also in seeing others do it -- helped me feel OK with it.
After years of "stop acting like a girl" or "that's white people shit".
ENOUGH.
