There's 'almost' undeniable evidence that there WILL be a final crew mate YET to join the straw hats.

I'll be going through the evidence and arguments against it, then go through most likely candidates. Firstly there's this Luffy quote from Chapter 1

If luffy was included, then zoro would be the "second" not the first crew member. This shows oda's intention when he said 10. Currently we have 9 active members, but some may argue Vivi is the 10th. While vivi is always a nakama, Oda doesn't recognise her in the count to 10

If Brook is considered the 8th (which he is by oda) then that means Jinbe Is the 9th. And if luffy set the number at 10 excluding himself (which we already proved) then that means there is undeniably a 10th crewmate incoming
And the nail in the coffin to this is that blackbeards crew (Luffy's arch-nemesis) has exactly 10 titanic captains with teach as the admiral while luffy is the captain. The last and final titanic captain for BB is unrevealed, and my guess is bc Luffy's 10th member is unrevealed

The more we find out about BB's crew, the more we will be able to find connections. We recently found out Catharina Devon hunts and Hates beautiful women. That's already a connection with Nami/Robin. Oda revealing the 10th BB member MIGHT spoil the 10th Strawhat

Before we get to the top candidates let's discuss the elephant in the room. A relatively new character joining will be the WORST strawhat automatically. It's a very bad move when we are literally in the final saga. Other strawhats have been here for 100's of chapters

This was something absolutely crucial to Luffy, and I personally believe that every single old and new strawhat should have been part of the struggle. Even though jinbe wasnt present in Sabaody, he was luffy's right hand man in marineford and was his pillar of support

You have to understand being a strawhat carries a standard. Even in popularity those candidates will be infinitely lower compared to any other strawhat and will never get their due shine later because we're in the final saga. Kinemon is a popular choice but he's TOO tied to Wano
Imo I think the 10th crewmate has criteria to meet.
-Has a personal relationship, dynamic, and respects Luffy
-Introduced pretimeskip
-Was part of paramount war saga and interacted with luffy.
Considering we had a WARLORD join our crew, powerful fighters are more possible

Previously, it was unthinkable that Boa can join. A man hater in a predominantly male crew? A crazy strong warlord stronger than everyone there except luffy? These were problems that immedietly dismissed her potential BUT with recent manga content, that may change
The strawhats are getting stronger. If jinbe didn't upset the power balance of the crew, it's very unlikely Hancock will. Her character and hate for men has always been an ongoing plotpoint as Hancock is very protective of her slave mark and is scared anyone will find out

Oda has already basically confirmed Hancock getting captured with the help of SSG, which means her character will be expanded on. Most fans predicted eventually her secret will be exposed and she will have to face her past once more, which includes her hatred towards men
While I'm not saying she WILL join, I'm merely arguing that the reasons for her NOT joining before, may no longer be valid. The final evidence for this is the unusual focus oda had on Marguerite.

All this shows to me is that Oda intended for Hancock to leave Amazon Lily and have Marguerite succeed her as the new empress. This also goes along with the HEAVY foreshadowing that Hancock MUST go with luffy, otherwise her love will only hurt her more

As for Bon Clay, it's a little easier to explain why he can join. He's on good terms with all strawhats, especially with luffy. The problem with him is that he's stuck in impel down, but as said before, with the capture of Boa, sabo, vivi, we might revisit Impel down soon.

Now Smoker is the most difficult to justify. He's grown to respect luffy over the years, and has since VERY early on started feeling worse and worse about the World government. He was also told by Kuzan about perspective from the "other side" foreshadowing Smoker joining pirates

While I'm not saying any of these will join, I still think all of these 3 have far more precedence to join the strawhats in the Final war as a crewmate than any of the more recent picks like Yamato, Carrot, Momonosuke, Kinemon, and Otama. Just wanted to write my thoughts
