#ThankYouSupernatural
big thread incoming!!
about 10 years ago, i started making goofy little spn comics. to think i've had *any* influence on the absolute beast of a creation that is #Supernatural is far beyond my own average comprehension of like, being a person and time
i mostly stuck to goofy fan art for forever, but this fandom was the first to ever express interest in any other work besides that. i would sneak something that i tried really hard on, and people actually made me feel *proud* of myself
and this was all before 2014!?
sorry, taking a feelings break to remember the "i hate sam and dean" club
this show inspired me to make SO much stuff. but i really, really liked hiding. i still do. but some things, i didn't have a lot of choice whether or not it got seen. people were showing my work to the minds that inspired it, and i had absolute 0 confidence still
but there were always loose strings in the show, i had to chase 'em. i love creature design, and the idea of these crazy creatures in vessels is what kept me hooked. also, misha collins and his fantastical weird ass
have i mentioned rich and rob? because around this time, i got to see their comedy chops onstage, and their humor was EVERYTHING i aspired to have. god'n'gabe got the brunt of that, and i'm still so proud of it
no matter how dark the content of the show itself, i've made it my mission to make the sunday funnies goddammit
people come up to me at events (and sometimes in the wild!?) and reference these comics to me
the fact that my dumb jokes have made any impact baffles me. getting to be a part of a community that values them has been.....incredible??
this isn't even a *fraction* of what i've been inspired to make over the decade. but i'd go back and make all this and more--i *owe* spn. my family, my friends, my home, my job, all that and more. but dammit, i still got the sunday funnies you HEAR ME
and i have no intention of stopping until it does!
so thanks for everything, #SPNFamily. sometimes it's a rocky road, but i couldn't be more grateful.
