Too many people unnecessarily lose their lives because stigma prevents them from getting the support they need. 1/
I would not be here today if I did not receive help for my #depression. I know:
- Professional #MentalHealth support WORKS
- Seeking support that works can be a LONG journey
- People can stigmatize you when you courageously open up
- The system can improve to save more lives 2/

We always hear people say the generic, "check in on your friends" and "seek help if you're struggling."
However, true change will only happen when we address the SYSTEMIC lack of #MentalHealth support due to stigma, and LESSEN THE BURDEN on the people struggling. 3/
