I am OUT everywhere in my life. Just so freaking out. It’s an incredible privilege and I don’t begrudge folks not being out. Don’t police people’s identities or be an asshole when folks aren’t as privileged as you are.
Also look at my picture, everyone who sees me knows I’m gay. I didn’t always feel comfortable with that. That didn’t make me bad then. I’m just more comfortable now with short hair and being gay AF.
But I have hard lines other places. I’m not going to share as much about my kids or my wife. They exist. They’re very funny. That’s about it. Authors can have lines and boundaries and those should be respected.
If you ask a question about my wife and kids I’ll either ignore it or say nope not going to answer. That doesn’t mean I’m hiding them.
