There seems to be some confusion about Weverse and profiles and followers and # and posts.
Let me help.
First you have to update your profile. If your app doesn’t show the option check your App Store for the update.

Next you edit your profile. You can out in a bio, add a profile picture of your choice and select one of the available banners +
On the bottom right is the green button with a pen on it. Tap it to write a post. As you can see in the examples, use a # of your choice so people can find you +
You can add pictures or links in your post if you want.
Write whatever message you want and add the # so people can search it to find your profile, then tap ‘post’ on the bottom right again +

Next step: go to discover, the little magnifying glass on the bar below.

Type in your search and select the second option +
Now you can see all posts that used that specific # you searched for and you can add your friends by tapping on their profile pictures. If the picture isn’t set, the profile hasn’t been updated yet and you can’t follow +
Lastly: if you reply to a post it’s no use putting in a # because as you can see, it doesn’t highlight.
You can’t click the profile of the commenter either. So if you want people to react or follow: proceed as mentioned above.
